Bangtao beach: Long stretch of sand that ends up at the exclusive Laguna Resort.
Surin beach: With the Thai food stalls and dolphin statue, this beach has a nice local vibe.
Laem Singh beach: A small secluded beach in a cove. There are no hotels, but a few restaurants.
Kamala beach: A peaceful beach with all the necessities.
Patong beach: Somebody's idea of the perfect holiday beach, others will consider it hell.
Karon beach: Beautiful open stretch of sand that quirks under your soles.
Kata beach: Sand, sea and hotels which attract a happy crowd.
Other beaches: There are several smaller private beaches (with entrance fee) south of Karon viewpoint, like Siam beach and Nui beach.
Rawai: Well, here are sand and water but no one will consider it nice... but charismatic, yes.
